Description of Position:
This is a part time, academic position in the Nurse Assistant Certification. We currently have a PM class, weekend, and weekday instructor position open. The assignment includes teaching theory lectures at school, supervising students in the clinical facilities, and working closely with the program director to maintain collaborative relationships with the clinical facilities. Must meet CDPH requirement. Must have an active LVN and RN license. Please refer to additional requirements below.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Plans, coordinates, manages and directs the classroom, skills lab, and clinical setting training experience for students. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;
2. Evaluates interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge base of students in classroom, skill lab and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure student performance.
3. Maintains confidential, accurate and complete records and reports as required by state policy.
4. Responsible for efficient and effective use of supplies and equipment.
5. Completes and submits course records and reports in a timely manner in compliance with applicable guidelines.
Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years on nursing; or full time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one (1) year of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in a nursing facility (also long term care facility). In addition, twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing and evaluation of educational programs in nursing is required. These courses must be approved by the Board of Registered Nursing or courses administered by an accredited educational institution.
