CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant
Full Time, Part Time & Per Diem - Days/Evenings/Nights
** Starting pay rate $21/hour + shift differentials; increases with experience**
United Methodist Communities is currently seeking a CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant for Bristol Glen Senior Care Community located in Newton, NJ. Bristol Glen, Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is a thoughtfully designed and meticulously maintained 75-acre campus providing exceptional options for senior care living.
- The CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant performs various non-professional nursing care activities and related services necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of the residents.
Requirements for a CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience in a long term care setting preferred.
- Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey
Responsibilities for a UMC CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant:
- Perform personal care activities for residents
- Completes daily skin checks and reports changes to nurse immediately
- Participates in the dining experience, i.e., serving, clearing, cutting & feeding- based on residents' strengths
- Shares resident preferences with other staff using appropriate communication methods
- Maintains continuity of care daily by timely documenting and communicating care tasks completed with each individual resident assigned in the point of care kiosk
- Attends and actively participates with Interdisciplinary Team Care Plan meeting to identify residents' strength based approaches and skills for assigned residents
- Assist residents with the use of adaptive equipment, including but not limited to: walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures and hearing aids
- Understands, uses and follow restorative nursing principles and practices to assist resident in maintaining their optimal level of function and maximize their strengths
- Reads and understands the individualized summary plan for residents, and provides support to the residents according to their summary and care plan
- Observes and identifies residents' changing needs and condition at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing as appropriate
- Takes and records vital signs & weights as instructed by nurse. Makes rounds several times each shift to identify residents needing assistance
- Perform treatment task under the supervision of the licensed nurse and therapist
- Seeks opportunity to learn for personal growth: completes in-services training programs, attends nursing staff meetings and mandatory assigned training
