This is a full-time on-site position working in our Waukesha Clinic. There is the possibility of working from home one day a week after the successful completion of orientation.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Review physician coding for daily charge completion
Coding and billing hospital visits, surgeries, and circumcisions
Quarterly physician E/M audits
Front desk/ scheduling/ surgery scheduling inquiries
Maintain up to date knowledge of current coding practices through education
Monitor and complete prior authorizations for certain services as needed
Perform insurance inquiries including but not limited to verification of eligibility, claim denials, overpayment requests, etc.
Answer patient inquiries and process patient payments
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Certified Medical Coder, one year of coding experience preferred
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding
Ability to multi-task, exceptional organization, and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with all levels of management, staff, physicians, and external vendors
Detail oriented and the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Ability to analyze problems and follow through with effective solutions
Willingness to be cross trained in other functions within the Business Office
Demonstrates qualities of a team player
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Coding Credential including, but not limited to CPC, CCS, CCS-P through AHIMA/AAPC
Coding hospital/facility inpatient and outpatient services
E/M Auditing experience; 2023 guidelines a plus
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and EPIC software.
