Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiates Clinical office operations and assists physicians with a wide range of healthcare services and procedures. Provides daily supervision of the support staff for the clinical area to ensure the smooth operation of the office
- Oversees the daily clinical flow, schedules, and functions, ensuring all site medical assistants provide quality medical treatment. When needed, train other medical assistants to improve performance and skill
- Escort patients, obtain a health history, check vital signs, and perform EKGs
- Administer injections and collect specimens
- Document patient care using electronic medical record software
- Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant program/school, or a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
- Current CPR card for Healthcare Professionals (BLS) or willing to obtain
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance.
