We're seeking a compassionate, skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our primary care clinic. As a key member of our team, you'll support the healthcare provider, assist with patient care, and ensure efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts pre-visit planning prior to appointment and updates medical records with recent test results and other correspondence.
- Greet and prepare patients for exams and treatments.
- Record patient's vital signs and medical history in the EHR system.
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and treatments.
- Administer medications and perform basic lab tests.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and coordinate patient referrals.
- Create and track prior authorizations.
- Distribute correspondence memos, faxes and forms.
- Handle administrative tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming clinic environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for efficient patient care.
- Provide compassionate and attentive patient interactions.
- Provide comprehensive patient education.
- Update patient on test results.
- Maintain medical supplies.
- Refill medications per practice protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification required.
- 3 to 10 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health record and basic computer skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
- BLS certification is a requirement.
- Phlebotomy certification is a plus.
