A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST / OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
As a Certified Hand Therapist / Occupational Therapist, you diligently evaluate and assess each patient and their needs so that you can provide comprehensive care. During their first visit, you test each patient's physical and mental abilities and analyze their medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals. You create a treatment plan according to each person's specific needs and keep an open line of communication with their other providers. As you follow each treatment plan, you evaluate the patient's progress and create detailed reports.
You help to educate each patient and their loved ones about the proper treatments and suggest changes they should make to their environment. Skillfully, you design and create special supplies and equipment, such as splints, braces, and more. Additionally, you help train and supervise students and therapy interns as they perform a variety of therapy techniques. You love providing excellent healthcare services that improve each patient's quality of life!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST / OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
- Master's degree in occupational therapy
- Hand therapy certification or willingness to become certified
Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred but not required. Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills? Are you a people person? Can you manage your time effectively? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST / OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
This occupational therapy position is full-time and typically works four 10-hour shifts between Monday - Friday.
