POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the manager and registered nurse, the certified surgical technician provides safe and efficient care to the patient in the operating room. Included in this assignment is a strong working knowledge of the perioperative setting and effective communication skills in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

In addition to specialty care in Cardiovascular and Women's Services, Medical City North Hills provides adult and pediatric outpatient surgery, and is also home to Texas' first children's outpatient surgery center.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education and Training Experience Required
High school diploma or GED
Graduate of a formal training program in operating room technology, must pass CST exam within 180 days of graduation.*
Two years Operating Room Experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Current BCLS certification
- Certification CST by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or TS-C by National Center for Competency Testing.* If Surgical Technologist training occurred prior to 2008, certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- If hired after 9/1/2009 must have certification of CST by NBSTSA
