As our Occupational Therapy Assistant, assists Occupational Therapist in administering treatment from an established Occupational Therapy plan of care to restore function following injury, disease or physical disability, and wellness for prevention of disability. Apply clinical judgment for individualized treatment and use of physical agent modalities as appropriate to maximize progress, improve functional ability of patients within the scope of the state’s practice where Occupational Therapy services are provided.

- Reviews practitioner referral, patient’s condition and medical records to determine appropriate treatment.
- Prepares and completes treatment program based on established plan of care.
- Monitors effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Records treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart and/or enters information into the computer medical records.
- Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
- Assists in developing, interpretation and application of the departmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinates Occupational Therapy efforts with those of other departments and maintains open lines of communication and good working relations.
- Remains clinically proficient in routine work duties of the department
- Responsible for continual interaction and improvement of services within the department.
- Occupational Therapy Assistant Education/Accreditation
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must hold a current driver’s license
- Member and credentialed with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Member of or eligible for membership in American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
- Clinical knowledge base to carryout established Occupational Therapy plan of care/treatment for patients
