Hess Physical Therapy is located in Western Allegheny County PA and specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy. We have an excellent reputation in the community for providing HIGH QUALITY OF CARE. Our team is a motivated and close-knit group of fun and focused people who bring out the best in each other and our clients. We are a growing company and just have opened our fifth clinic in the Pittsburgh area and have plans for additional growth. This is the reason we are currently looking to hire a full-time Centralized Referral Scheduling and Verification Specialist.

Position Summary

The Centralized Referral Scheduling and Verification Specialist will work in combination with the front offices, billing team, and external verification vendors to ensure Hess Physical Therapy’s processes and workflows are executed successfully and the risk of lost revenue is minimized. You will be the first person of contact for patients inquiring about physical therapy and wanting to schedule an evaluation. You will be driving both internal and external customer satisfaction through a focus on faster and more efficient reimbursement.

Core Responsibilities:

• Schedules all first appointment evaluations for patients.
• Enters all new patient information into EMR system.
• Obtains and verifies insurance plans for physical therapy patients.
• Utilizes phone, multiple insurances websites, or other methods as needed to verify insurance efficiently and accurately.
• Interprets benefit information, and communicates with respected team members.
• Timely follow up on all submitted verifications/pre-certifications.
• Follows processes as set forth by Operations Director.
• Serves as liaison between patient, front desk, and billing team.
• Other clerical responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification and Skills:

• Highly organized, detailed oriented, with team first mindset
• Able to function fast paced atmosphere
• Demonstrates flexibility in responding to priorities and organizational change
• 1-2 years previous experience in pre-auth verification, referral coordination, and patient services preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Customer service
• Solution oriented mindset and ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills
• Effective written and communication skills
• Effective computer and typing skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.73 - $21.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
