Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the proper distribution, decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with policy and procedure. Prepares operating room case carts, sterile trays and supplies for all areas of the hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Contributes to the efficient operation of the department in providing requested supplies to all patient care units in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and administrative policies.
• Responsible for the decontamination and/or sterilization of all reusable equipment, instruments, and supplies, and documents with attention to quality control and safety per Infection Control Standards, Universal Precautions , bio hazard, and OSHA guidelines. Utilizes all sterilizing monitors and indicators appropriately and documents accurately.
• Performs quality control through routine testing and cleaning to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly. Inspects equipment, instruments, and packaging for cleanliness, defects and/or malfunctions. Ensures specialty carts are stocked and ready for immediate use.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• BLS Certification required
• Experience: 1+ Years of experience preferred
• Skills: Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments. Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills. Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
