Position Overview:
Scheduling of Imaging Services performed at Main Campus, East Campus, and the Cortland Campus, and Sleep Study Scheduling via telephone. Greets Provider Offices, patients, and internal hospital departments in a positive and professional manner. Completes tasks in an organized and efficient manner.
This is a call center environment. There is no direct face-to-face patient interaction.

What you'll do:
- Information Management
- Collects and inputs patient data accurately and efficiently.
- Schedules patients for the appropriate exam/procedure.
- Schedules patients for the appropriate campus based on patient convenience, and exam required.
- Confirms receipt of a valid patient order for exam to be performed.
- Information Systems
- Identifies deficiencies in the Meditech Scheduling System and works with Lead, Manager and Information Services to correct issues.
- Collaborates with Lead, Manager, and Information Services when new exams need to be added to the Scheduling System.
- Financial Clearance
- Validates patient insurance coverage is with a participating payer, and notifies office/patient of options if insurance in a non-participating payer.
- Completes Good Faith Estimate forms in accordance with No Surprises Act legislation for those patients with no insurance or out-of-network insurance.
- Obtains authorization if required and/or ensures provider office has obtained an authorization.
- Reviews medical necessity requirements for exams scheduled for all Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients. Communicates with provider office regarding diagnosis requirements if necessary.
- Community Interaction
- Courteous and pleasant attitude when interacting with physicians and other customers via telephone.
- Troubleshoots any exam conflicts and/or missing data elements and resolves as needed.
- Phone reception/public interaction
- Answers incoming calls promptly and courteously.
- Handles all inquiries within the realm of responsibility with accurate information.
- Routes calls as needed.
- Makes provider offices and patients feel welcome.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: Experience in hospital registration and/or scheduling required
- Licensure: No licensure required.
Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., typing, use of computer and keyboard) may require light lifting and carrying, including boxes, equipment, stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting for long periods of time.
