Summary: Responsible for performing all areas of the back office operations for the bank. Assist clients, bank and branch staff with operational inquiries/issues and address accordantly. In addition, work with the Federal Reserve, Fiserv applications, supporting vendors, and correspondent banks that affect the bank operations area. Cross-train with Central Operations staff as directed by Central Operations Supervisor or Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:

•Assist Bank and Branch staff with intermediate operational inquires

•Independently identify and solve basic and intermediate operations issues with assistance from Supervisor or Manager as needed

•Work with the Federal Reserve, Fiserv and other supporting vendors and correspondent banks that affect the bank operations area

•On a daily basis process: non-post, stops suspects, NSF returns, exception returns, check chargeback items, large item review and proof corrections, deposit corrections, ATM and Debit Card maintenance

•Review and reconcile daily reports including General Ledger, ACH, ATM/Debit Card Maintenance and Settlement, ATM & Debit Card Risk Management Reports

•Reconcile Bank negotiable instruments bank control accounts, performs callbacks as required, department general ledger accounts

•Research and process ACH requests and returns

•Receive and processes all types of legal processing request for funds: levies, garnishments, order to withhold. Communicate and work with attorneys, state and federal agencies

•Prepare monthly certifications as required

•Open and closed Bank related CD accounts as instructed

•Process branch cash orders, cash letter adjustments through FRB, Fiserv Viewpointe, and ECCHO adjustments

•Process CD interest checks and assist with IRA automatic distribution checks. Answer branch questions regarding posting IRA/ Health Saving Account contributions and distributions

•Review and monitor IRA and Health Saving Account maintenance reports

•Identify an EFT claim and determine the type of form required for each type of EFT transaction. Conduct a thorough investigation within timeframes as determined by federal and state law as wells as Visa Rules

•Review and work the Daily Dormant reports, prepare and send written client notification. Reactivate accounts per client or branch authorization. Prepare and process annual escheatment (following reporting and remitting instructions based on individual State requirements) of all types of dormant accounts, items, safe deposit boxes etc.

•Prepare monthly reports for State Bar (IOLTA), Reg D violations and Reg O reporting and other reports as required

•Responsible for daily volume tracking of tasks and archiving records for Central Operations

•May assist in sending outgoing wires and verifying incoming wires

•Process incoming and outgoing mail and Verifications of Deposit

•Assist in the training/cross training of department employees as directed

Education and/or Experience:

•High School diploma or equivalent required

•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience required - to include branch experience (teller, new accounts); back office in all operational functions; processing IRA and HSA accounts; Fedline Advantage

•Experience with Fiserve Precision and Director preferred

•Certifications from a national/regional organizations such as NACHA, ECCHO, Ascensus, or WesPay highly preferred


Skills / Qualifications:

•Intermediate level of knowledge and comprehension of the different types of legal documentation and regulatory requirements used in Central Operations

•Working knowledge of bank products and services

•Some knowledge of related bank operations and procedures

•Proper oral and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling

•Basic to intermediate computer literacy. Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Must be comfortable using a computer

•Ability to recognize problems or situations when they occur and resolve them with guidance from Central Operations Supervisor or Manager as needed

•Possess excellent interpersonal skills to include having a positive attitude, engaging in professional conduct at all times and being a respectful team player

•Ability to prioritize and work effectively and efficiently in a deadline driven fast paced environment with daily fluctuating volumes
