We seek a motivated and high performing individual to join the Cell Therapy group within Therapeutics Discovery (TD) to support the development of a universal, off-the-shelf iPSC Cell Therapy platform. In this role you will culture, characterize, and differentiate gene-edited iPSCs to help develop optimal genetic engineering approaches. The successful candidate will have a background in Cell & Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or Immunology and experience culturing iPSCs. Success in this position will require both the ability to independently execute lab responsibilities and the ability to effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team. Key Responsibilities:
- Culture, expand, and bank iPSCs
- Perform single-cell cloning of gene-edited iPSCs and subsequent flow cytometric analysis and molecular characterization
- Differentiate gene-edited iPSCs into hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs)
- Develop and optimize high-throughput screening methods for iPSC differentiation
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and effectively communicate results
- Maintain laboratory records and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals
- Bachelor's Degree in Cell & Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or related field is required
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Experience with iPSC or stem cell culture and differentiation protocols is required
- Background in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, and DNA sequencing is required
- Ability to independently perform lab-based responsibilities with limited guidance is required
- Ability to collaborate with others to plan experiments and coordinate frequent hand-offs of cell lines and data packages to members of other teams is required
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills is required
- A minimum 2 years of stem cell experience is preferred
- Experience with flow cytometry is preferred
- Experience with gene editing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas systems is preferred
- Experience with automation and high-throughput screening is preferred
- Prior immunology experience, including T cell biology and chimeric antigen receptors is preferred
