Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a tractor-trailer, box truck or Van to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with all state and federal laws.

- Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy
- Comply to all DOT Requirements
- Proper required PPE per Welch Safety System
- Service and Asset Management
- Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Report all property damage, regardless of how insignificant it may seem.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Be able to use a pallet jack when needed to assist unloading.
- Be able to hand unload when needed. Assist customer unloading.
- Be able to safely operate a lift gate.
- Be able to climb in and out of the cab at each destination. (Multiple times a day).
- Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspect trailer loads for proper loading processes and verify your load has the correct BOL and destination before leaving facility.
- Verify product count and condition when permitted.
- Responsible for obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and any additional required signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Shipping Manager.

Requirements/Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. CDLA License. Previous tractor trailer driving experience. Ability to read and write English. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and working with fractions.
