Under close supervision, operates specialized equipment capable of photographing and sealing the inside of wastewater lines; and performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Which are not in any hierarchical order)
1. Checks TV truck and accessory apparatus, chemicals, camera, video tape recording system and additional equipment needed for the day.
2. Determines the most effective way to set up equipment in traffic areas so the public will not be inconvenienced by the work.
3. Inspects the interior of wastewater lines visually by use of a closed-circuit TV monitor.
4. Directs which lines are to be inspected after the cleaning crew has completed their activities.
5. Sets footage so an accurate reading may be taken when identifying cracks, leaks, and roots in laterals.
6. Records problems found in main line by using Nassco standards.
7. Decides whether repairs should be made by using a sealing unit or reported to another crew to be dug up and repaired.
8. Directs the mixing of chemicals to be used in the sealing process. And provide the accurate footage for the area to be sealed.
9. Reviews videos tape and inspection grading code sheets with Supervisor to determine the cost-effective method of repair for questionable areas or problems.
10. Complete and create computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) work orders through data entry.
11. Prepares inspection reports.
12. Have the ability to use a GIS system.
13. Download videos to GIS and backup drives.
14. Ensures that all equipment is secured on truck upon completion of job.
15. Perform related duties in maintaining, servicing and repairing the sewer/storm systems.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary
$23.17 Hourly (Pay Grade 49)

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (education will be verified using the "Education Requirements" listed below) and two (2) years of experience in the wastewater collection field or stormwater drainage is required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. The following NASSCO Certifications are required: Manhole Assessment Certification (MACP), Lateral Assessment Certification (LACP), Pipe Assessment Certification (PACP), and Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP).
A current and valid Florida Class B Commercial driver’s license is required.
Special Driving Requirements:
- Have not lost any driving privileges by reason of revocation, suspension or denial of license, or have been convicted and/or had an adjudication withheld of three or more moving violations.
- Have not had one DUI (Driving Under the Influence) in any preceding twenty-four (24) month period. License suspension of two weeks or less or suspensions based only on non-moving violations that have been cleared will not automatically result in revocation of driving privileges.
- Have not had more than one DUI (conviction or adjudication withheld) in Florida or any other state within the past ten (10) years.
Education Requirements:
To be considered valid (or verified) for position qualification purposes, and consistent with City Hiring Policy 4-5, a High School, GED or equivalent diploma, and all higher education degrees or certifications must have been issued by:
a) a public education institution in the State of Florida or any State or Territory of the United States; or
b) an institution accredited by an accrediting organization that is recognized by the Florida Department of Education or the U.S. Department of Education; or
c) an institution that is accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); or
d) an institution whose degree or certification is accepted by institutions identified in either a, b or c above for the purpose of admission to institutions identified in either a, b, or c above.
International degrees will be evaluated to determine if they satisfy qualification requirements.
