Catering Assistant

Job Overview:

Our catering team is skilled in the art of creating menus and food based on the customers’ needs for their events. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team! This position will be responsible for many duties in and out of the kitchen.

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with food preparation, setup, and service for various events. Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Kitchen Manager

- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling platters
- Preparing Tea and Lemonade
- Cleaning, Polishing Chaffers
- Chaffer Set up
- End of Day Tear Down (Putting food away, putting out sternos, putting chaffers away)
- Filling Chaffers with Water and Placing Sternos
- Lighting Chaffers at the appropriate time
- Gathering and Setting all Utensils for the Event
- Gathering all Décor and Display items for Charcuterie/ Dessert Displays
- Setting up Water, Tea and Lemonade Dispensers
- Overseeing Table Setting Placement (Chargers, Silverware, Napkins etc.)
- Overseeing Bussers (giving instructions to bussers when to clear plates, refill water glasses, gather materials for cake cutting etc.)
- Assist with restocking supplies and inventory management
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure guest satisfaction
- Follow all health and safety guidelines

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
