Catered Living Assistant (Pool, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends available)
Pool rate: $17 an hour
Primary Function: - Looking for a Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our Catered Living Department as a Catered Living Assistant. The assignment is to provide care and services in residents' homes such as: companion services, personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping, for residents living in the Residential Living areas.
Qualifications: High School Diploma, required. Experience working in long term care setting or with senior population, preferred. Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment, required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, good communication skills with residents and staff throughout the community. Every other weekend, required.
Responsibilities:
1. Recognize and support the resident's right of choice.
2. Exhibit a patient, kind, caring, and respectful approach in all dealings with the residents, their families, peers, supervisors and other staff.
3. Respect and maintain residents' confidentiality.
4. Work cooperatively with peers, supervisors, and other staff, readily volunteering when assistance is needed.
5. Participate in staff team meetings, providing alternative ways to deal with identified concerns.
6. Assist residents with Catered Living Services as directed including:
Quality of Life
- Assistance participating in social, recreational and spiritual activities.
- Companionship and conversation for a resident or a loved one to allow a respite from caregiving.
Homecare
- Meal preparation
- Bathing and dressing
- Personal hygiene
- Organizational tasks (cleaning closets, shopping lists, writing letters)
