Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager. In the role of Category Manager- CHS Equipment, you will establish and lead a sourcing category strategy for CHS Equipment in support of operational excellence. This role will sit in CHS's Global Strategic Sourcing team but work and collaborate closely with our Ag Retail, Energy, and operational teams. The work will include executing category strategies, playing a key role in supplier relationship management and matrix building, standardizing buying/procurement processes, and supporting the scaling of CHS equipment.
The ideal candidate for this role brings a passion for business partnerships, creative problem solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role requires expertise in OEM/Distribution partner management, negotiating contract terms with external vendors, strategic sourcing principles, the procure-to-pay process, and the ability to partner closely with internal stakeholders to meet the complex needs of the business.
Responsibilities

• Lead transformative projects, drive simplification, and best in class ways of working within the Ag/Energy equipment space
• Maintain supplier relationships, lead negotiations, conduct sourcing events
• Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance and other measures of financial value
• Deliver annual and long-range business plan, development, and category strategies
• Develop close partnership and collaboration with CHS Ag/Energy teams and locations
• Standardize buying/procurement process across businesses/technologies/channels
• Support inventory strategies, reorders, vendor management options, etc.
• CHS subject matter expert on new and evolving technologies to improve operational productivity, performance, and automation goals.
• Strong collaboration with function Category Managers to drive SOPs and performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• High School diploma or GED
• 4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or business planning

Additional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Statistics or related field
• Experience working in larger, more complex operations.
• Experience/exposure to working in Agriculture/Energy sector
• Experience/exposure to Ag / energy equipment supply chain
• Expert in category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, and contract negotiation
• Analytical and problem solving
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Process Improvement techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
• Understanding of centralized processes and organizations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
