Form of workJacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is in search of a Cast Tech/MAto work at the San Marco JOI office located on San Marco Blvd.

The Cast Tech/MA supports the physicians in the clinic related to casting and clerical functions according to current practices and established procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Applies and adjusts casts and splints as directed by the physician.
- Educates the patient on the proper care of casts/splints and proper usage of the DME items.
- Work closely with orthopedic physicians to coordinate patient care.
- Organize patient flow to keep physician on schedule.
- Assist patients to exam room, collect patient history and conduct screening.
- Answer patient phone calls and give instructions at the direction of the physician.
- Maintain exam rooms and medical supplies.
- Follow universal precautions when assisting with patient care.
- Be familiar with and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Clerical duties as required to update EMR, complete forms and charting.
- Assists in clinic where necessary.
Position Requirements
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- MA certification is preferred.
- BLS/CPR required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in an environment involving direct contact with the public and staff.
- Ability to handle stressful and difficult situations.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality standards.
- Effective computer skills.
