Cashier/Stock Associate

Bottle Stop Wine & Spirits is a destination for fine wine, spirits & craft beer located in Torrington, CT. We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of Cashier & Stock Person. This is a part-time position between 12-30 hours per week. The position will incorporate a mix of morning, day and evening shifts throughout the week and weekend.

The position of Cashier & Stock Person entails both register responsibility and inventory maintenance. Delivering excellent customer service, balancing registers & refilling shelves are essential to this position, therefore we ask you only apply if you meet the following requirements:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

-18 years of age or older, as required by State of CT

-Ability to lift 40lbs (case of wine) repeatedly & consistently

-Ability to stand on feet for majority of your shift

-1 year customer service experience

-1 year experience handling a cash register

-available to work on major holidays & days leading up to them

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-running a cash register & balancing/counting out

-maintaining a clean store environment (dusting/vacuuming)

-stocking shelves, building displays, breaking down & removing cardboard boxes and moving overstock items to overhead storage racks using, including but not limited to, step stools, ladders and rolling stairs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $15.69 per hour

• Night shift

• Weekends as needed

• Do you have a reliable form of transportation?
• Typical work shifts are 6 hours and do not incorporate a break. We also do not offer cigarette breaks. Employees, will be required to be on their feet for the entire shift. Are you able to work on your feet for 6 straight hours?
• Employees running the cash register will be required to balance their drawer at the beginning and end of each of their shifts. They will be required to balance the cash taken during their shift with a computer generated total. Any shortages will be the responsibility of the said employee. Do you feel comfortable with your ability to properly and efficiently count and balance a cash drawer?

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
