SalaryIn this role you will be responsible for performing cashier functions in the hospital Cafeteria and its coffee bar. As a Cashier, you will multitask between preparing beverages and processing transactions. Responsibilities include: * Process customer transactions on a computerized cash register station * Follow beverage recipes and coffee standards * Maintain and organize work station for cleanliness and orderliness, ensure that areas are appropriately filled and stocked * Reconciliation of daily cash reports and securing deposits in a proper manner * Assist assigned areas including food service stations as required by operational needs This is a part-time "as needed" Per Diem position; schedule and working hours will vary. Salary Range: $20.38-20.38 Hourly
* Demonstrated skills in handling computerized cash registers to process transactions. * Skill in making change, handling currency, and being able to recognize counterfeit bills easily. * Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions. * Mathematical skills to insure accuracy in calculating and generating deposits and postings according to University Policy. * Ability to adhere to all Departmental, University, and Hospital policies as relevant to cash handling procedures. * Ability to function fully as a team member, participating in on-going performance improvement projects. * Ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a high volume operation with diplomacy and patience. * Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push, and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot and cold areas. * Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs. * Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by JC and HACCP standards. * Skill in reading, speaking, and writing English. * Ability to travel to multiple UCLA Health locations.
