Position Purpose
Receives, distributes, and accounts for daily cash deposits received; posts all cash deposits to General Ledger, and initiates journal entries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Creates journal entries and posts all deposits to the general ledger.
- Processes daily deposits for transport to bank.
- Maintains cash deposits and reconciles daily.
- Assists in maintaining detailed accounting records for the Child Nutrition Program.
- Assists in preparing and tracking catering invoices.
- Assists in gathering financial reimbursement reports for local, state, and federal agencies.
- Assists in reconciling Child Nutrition cafeteria deposits against the district bank statement.
- Assists with the preparation and filing of internal and external financial reports, ensures proper reporting.
- Helps with accounting data to resolve problems and/or discrepancies.

- Knowledge of using MUNIS software in a school administration environment.

Travel Requirements
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency.
- Certification/License: None.
- Experience: 2 years in cash handling (such as teller, cashier, cash sales, financial secretary).
