Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Caseworker 2, Adoption. This position is responsible for both case management and legal finalization of children with a Court ordered goal of adoption or subsidized permanent legal custodianship (SPLC). The employee hired for this position communicates with adoptive and foster parents who provide custodianship of assigned child(ren). The Caseworker 2, Adoption also collaborates with affiliates through the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN); foster care providers; agency staff and the Court to have children with adoption or SPLC goals discharged from the Agency custody in a timely manner. The Caseworker 2, Adoption is supervised by the Team Supervisor. Working during non-traditional hours may be required at times. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Six months of experience as a CYS Caseworker 1; or Successful completion of the Social Casework Intern program; or A bachelor's degree with a social welfare or Social Work major; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
