Position Overview:
As a member of the firm’s Client Advisory Services (CAS) team, the Controller will work independently to manage the work of CAS staff accountants I, II and account supervisors. The successful candidate will oversee maintenance of records of financial transactions, maintain client relationships, and will be responsible for the full life cycle of client work. The Controller will manage internal resources to meet budgets and deadlines. The Controller participates in business development activities as needed. This position works extra hours during busy season.
Job Duties:
• Perform all work according to the firm’s methods, policies and procedures
• Prepare engagement correspondence
• Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, reconcile with general ledger
• Download accounting transactions for integration with multiple systems for accounting and
• reconciliation
• Pay vendor invoices or provide assistance to client employees performing this function
• Invoicing and collection of accounts receivable
• Process payroll or provide oversight to client employees or CAS staff performing this function
• Provide accounting software support to clients, client staff, and CAS staff
• Provide accounting assistance to clients, client staff, and CAS staff
• Prepare accounting work papers, including trial balances and depreciation schedules
• Monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll and financial reporting
• Prepare accounting workpapers, including trial balances and depreciation schedules
• Prepare sales and use tax returns
• Preparation of related business tax returns optional
• Prepare 1099’s for clients
• Preparation of annual business license and business personal property tax filings
• Manage client relationships independently
• Full lifecycle client relations, including business development meetings, managing ongoing
client relations, and identifying value adds for clients
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related topic + 8-10 years of related experience with increasing responsibility, including staff management or functional management experience
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online preferred
Proven thorough understanding of complex accounting and bookkeeping
Ability to work overtime, as required, during busy season
Excellent communication and project management skills
