The Commercial Loan Officer will utilize their experience to:
- Develop and manage new commercial deposit and loan accounts and customer relationships while enhancing existing relationships.
- Successfully achieve business development goals through presentation of both traditional and non-traditional commercial and business products and services to existing and prospective customers, making loans within delegated lending authority, referring consumer business development opportunities to appropriate service providers, and making referrals to other lines of business.
- Responsible for the overall profitability and quality of loan portfolio while ensuring adherence to established company loan

What will you be doing in this role?
- Execute the directives of the Market Leader (if applicable), Chief Lending Officer and other members of management.
- Individually performs activities to develop commercial and business relationships to meet customer needs and achieve assigned goals.
- Responsible for business development and referral activities. Collaborates with the Market Leader (if applicable) and Chief Lending Officer to develop strategies incorporating both short- and long-term goals and objectives for business development.
- Manage and service commercial relationships by interviewing customers and obtaining pertinent information. Analyze financial information and determines whether a credit is an acceptable risk.
- Approve loans within assigned lending authority, and company policies and procedures. Recommend credits outside lending authority to the next level or presents to Loan Committee accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor existing loans for conformity to terms and conditions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all banking products and services including loans, deposits, eCommerce, Mortgage, and Investments to facilitate cross-selling and enhance the customer experience.
- Identify business development and operational problems related to Commercial business development, recommend solutions and implement approved improvement plans.
- Maintain a current, broad knowledge of industry trends and business practices as well as detailed knowledge related to defined market functions through research and participation in relevant seminars and bank-sponsored activities, civic organizations, legislative updates, industry associations, subscriptions to relevant publications, and reports from associates or other bank employees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to First National Bank Values and Customer Service Standards in every interaction with internal and external customers. Requirements
What will you need?
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or other related field of study with two or more years of relevant lending experience (AA or AS degree with six or more years of relevant experience or ten or more years of relevant experience with no degree may be substituted for bachelor's degree).
- Demonstrated skills in commercial business development, credit underwriting, and portfolio management with verifiable success.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant banking regulations, compliance standards, and operational policies and procedures related to the banking industry.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to understand and carry out instructions, interpret documents, write business communications, give directions, speak clearly and make effective presentations to shareholders, customers, employees, peers, management, committees, civic and industry associations, and the general public.
- Self-motivated to work independently and take ownership.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, bank information systems, internet research and other PC-based applications.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
