SalaryResponsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care setting
- Follow resident rights guidelines and ensure the well-being and safety of individuals
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document accurately
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors
- Provide support in maintaining a clean and organized living environment
- Assist with lifting and transferring individuals as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in direct support or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Familiarity with medication administration and documentation procedures
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with physical tasks as required
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and other team members
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with individuals who may have complex needs or challenging behaviors
- Ability to follow instructions, protocols, and safety guidelines accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to manage daily tasks and documentation requirements
