Caregiver Plus Position:
- Caregiver plus will have a general work schedule along with their on-call days.
- Caregiver Plus will be officially designated as the on-call person to assist clients in cases of staff call-offs or emergent needs, with direct supervision by the administration team. During the designated on-call period, days are scheduled in advance and will not exceed 2 days a week, Caregiver Plus is expected to be on standby for any and all infrequent call off surges. The on-call period is generally 5pm-9am.
- Caregiver Plus must always maintain a reliable form of transportation as travel to the clients is necessary.
- Ideal candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of devotion to caring for others, effectively and reliably. This is vital, as Caregiver Plus must maintain a status as an acceptable fill-in caregiver for all clientele, with rare exception.
- To adequately provide on call, caregivers MUST be able to work in all available environments (including facilities) with few restrictions (dogs, cats, smokers, driver, distance). Including level 3 client care if needed (Transfers, incontinence care, medical equipment competency).
- If the On Call Caregiver is sick or has any other conflict, they must call in advance just as they would for a normal shift according to our Attendance Policy.
- If the caregiver is assigned a shift, they will still get paid the stipend for the On Call pay plus getting paid for the shift *Note that On Call pay does not count as hours worked for overtime purposes and is not affected by holiday multipliers.
Requirements (all items below are a requirement to be considered for employment):
- Candidates must be fully vaccinated, including COVID vaccination, or a willingness to start the COVID vaccination prior to start date.
- At least 2-3 years in a caregiver role, including personal care.
- 2 or more strong professional references from past or current employment.
- Mustbe willing to travel.
- Reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, a clean driving record, and ability to commit to being on-call for immediate emergency deployment for any client within Washtenaw and Livingston counties.
- Willingness to run errands for clients, and potentially transport them to appointments.
