Responsibilities
1. Personal Care Assistance: Assist people with direct personal care including ambulation, bathing, body care, dressing, eating, personal hygiene, positioning, self-medication, supervision, toileting, and transfer. Personal care services do not include assistance with delegated nursing tasks or other services performed by a licensed health professional.
2. Household Assistance: Assist with incidental household tasks including essential shopping, housework, laundry, meal preparation, travel to medical services and wood supply.
3. Observe: Routinely observe client for changes in care status, collect complete and accurate data, follow plan of care and prioritize client care needs.
4. Care Planning: Implement plan of care, monitor and document client response, follow plan of care, involve client and family in care decisions, report changes and implement plan of care in conjunction with supervisor.
5. Maintain Care Record: Document required information, use correct terminology, conform to required style and format, submit documentation on time, comply with legal guidelines.
6. Implement Safety and Emergency Procedures: Identify and implement safety and emergency procedures
7. Maintain Client Rights: Maintain and respect client rights and promote client independence regardless of race, religion, life-style, sexual preference, disease process, or ability to pay
8. Client Interaction: Provide age-specific and cross-cultural care, treat client and families with compassion, and manage difficult or emotional client situations.
9. Communicates: Use communication and interpersonal skills effectively in order to function as a member of the care giving team.
10. Use Equipment: Understand equipment operation, demonstrates technical skill in using equipment, and maintains equipment in working order.
11. Performance Improvement: Participate in performance improvement efforts; attend required meetings and inservice programs.
12. Other: Performs other duties as assigned.
