Visiting Angels In-home Care is looking to add an experienced individual to our office staff, who is passionate about Caregiving and providing the best care for Seniors in need. The Caregiver Mentor (Care Staff Mentor) will oversee the training, skillset and well-being of our Caregivers. Working hand in hand with our Caregiver Manager to ensure that our Caregivers can confidently provide care to our clients with a wide variety of needs.
The Caregiver Mentor will play a vital roll in training those who may not have experience as well as those who have a life time of experience. Being able to lead, construct and teach will be a intricate function of the position. Lastly, it's important that the person in the Caregiver Mentor position helps to build and sustain a culture where our caregivers are passionate and excited about what they do, the services we provide, and the profoundly remarkable experience we provide for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Working to build a culture of support, communication and excitement
- Hands on training for new Caregivers as well as on-going training for experienced Caregivers
- Ensuring all Caregivers are compliant with annual training
- Teaching hands on training classes such as transfers, bed bound care, hospice, etc.
- Communicating with all departments to provide high quality service for our Clients and Caregivers
- On-site training of Caregivers within Client's homes for specific skills/tasks (as needed)
- Conducting regular check ins with Caregivers to ensure job satisfaction and assist with employee retention
- Assist with organizing Caregiver/Employee events
Skills:
- 3+ years of hands on In-home Caregiving experience
- Caregiving Skills: Dementia, Transfers, Hospice, Personal Care, Medications and more
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Presentation skills to conduct in person training
- Computer Skills
- Programs we use: Wellsky, Care Academy, Slack, Dropbox, Gmail and more
- Advocating for Caregivers, Clients and Office Staff
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm @ our Cedar Hills Office
