Position Summary
Performs nuclear and nonnuclear Cardiac Stress test.
Primary Duties
- Assists with scheduling outpatient treadmill stress tests.
- Explains purpose and procedure of stress test to patient.
- Prepares patient for testing which includes set up of modified 12 lead EKG and continuous monitoring throughout entirety of test with rhythm identification and interpretation.
- Maintain/clean stress test machines and equipment.
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise with Stress Testing equipment.
- Verify all necessary supplies are available, stocked, and reviews for expiration dates regularly.
- Performs routine and emergency EKG acquisition, management of MUSE platform. Downloads, collates, prepares for physician interpretation; transcribes physician interpretations into database system, and processes confirmed reports. Demonstrates basic understanding of EKG configuration and rhythm recognition.
- Will be responsible to take call after clinic hours for testing needed.

Qualifications
Required:
- High school graduate or GED
- CNA, Medical Assistant Certification or Exercise Physiology Certification or 1 year of experience in Cardiac Stress test lab can replace certification.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
- Basic computer skills
- Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms.
- Certified Cardiovascular Technician or BS in Exercise Science (or degree in related health field) or 0-3 years previous Stress Testing experience.
- Previous experience in EKG and Cardiac Stress Testing, familiarity with EKG interpretation.
