Summary:
The Mobile ECHO service provides pediatric cardiac sonography services that can provide either full coverage, overnight/weekend call coverage or scheduled intermittent coverage for hospitals in the region. This position operates ultrasound equipment used to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care. This position requires travel-heavy work (within Dallas/Fort-Worth region and sonographer coverage area) and regular call periods, including overnight coverage.
Responsibilities:
* Respond to Mobile ECHO work queue / schedule to appropriately cover requests in assigned coverage area.
* Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
* Perform pediatric cardiac ECHO and interpretation within one hour of a STAT request for sites/locations supported. This requirement is only listed for Level III and Level IV NICUs - there are no specific pediatric echocardiography requirements for Level I and II NICUs
* Utilize critical thinking skills and a segmental approach while imaging to produce diagnostic high-quality studies in normal to complex congenital heart defects.
* Participate fully in call schedule
* Participate in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research studies.
* Participate in quality improvement activities.
EDUCATION
* Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience echocardiography Required
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current RDCS-PE by ARDMS or RCCS by CCI (ARDMS is preferred) Preferred
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
* Valid, current Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's License upon employment Required
* Certified in one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Preferred
