Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for a Cardiac Sonographer/ Echo Tech to work onsite in Montrose.
Shift: Days 5-8's
Job Summary:
- The Cardiac Sonographer should be able to perform a variety of transthoracic, exercise stress, dobutamine echocardiogram, carotid, venous, and arterial studies within the laboratory. Optimize all available imaging modalities to acquire a comprehensive test to the standards of the organization. Performs quality exams for interpretation by a physician to assure results and data are precisely and correctly recorded.
- Performs transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) exams.
- Performs stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
- Prepares preliminary interpretation of studies.
- Understands and uses echocardiogram imaging agents as needed as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) exams.
- Maintains, stocks echocardiograms labs as needed.
- Performs high-level disinfection of transesophageal (TEE) probe.
- Documents and maintains patient and test data. Keys precise data and patient information into the computer to maintain record of test results.
- Maintains equipment
- Manages time and workload fluctuations.
- Evaluates patients and adapts to changing clinical situations.
- Utilizes and maintains departmental and hospital equipment.
- Completes departmental and hospital requirements.
- Involves self in departmental, team and committee goals.
- Takes ownership and responsibility for individual performance goals.
- Provides a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assists with daily activities of the testing department. Example: Transporting patients and chart review, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Explains processes to patients; instructs and assists patients in assuming physical positioning for examinations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.
- Education: RDCS registered. BLS certified on hire; ACLS preferred
- Training & Experience: Prefer one-year experience but not mandatory.
- Job Knowledge: Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
