JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for performing treadmills. Evaluates and analyzes all data, during treadmill, which includes interpreting EKG's, monitoring for any change in cardiac rhythm, monitoring patient's condition and comfort level and ensures that the proper data is recorded/collected for the physician to finalize the interpretation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Rooms patients.
2. Performs vitals to include taking blood pressure, pulse, weight, height and reviews patient's medication list. Documents treadmill testing in EMR and obtains patient history.
3. Obtains and records all patient information pertinent to testing and explains procedure and/or instruction to patients and families.
4. Performs treadmill exercise tolerance tests requiring knowledge of complex cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
5. Interprets EKG's for baseline rhythm and any change in cardiac rhythm during test. Able to analyze, interpret and document in EMR.
6. Maintains a working knowledge of and certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
7. Cleans and maintains equipment.
8. Maintains exam rooms by stocking supplies, etc.
9. Performs other functions as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/ LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness, or related field. - OR-
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) -OR-
Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BCLS Certification or minimum one (1) year of experience performing treadmill stress testing, and interpreting electrocardiograms.
Basic ECG and arrhythmia interpretation required.
Basic knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and terminology required.
