Position Overview
The Capture Manager is a critical role in the business development team. This role is dedicated to assesses various opportunities including nontraditional opportunities, identify the resources needed to pursue an opportunity, meet with clients, build relationships with key partners, develop winning bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks, must be a self-starter and willing to be hand on in the process
- Direct and manage strategic pursuits in collaboration with Business Development and other members of the leadership team
- Lead strategic/nontraditional captures, develop win strategies, and execute capture plans
- Enhance proposal readiness where needed
- Play a key role in the bid proposal process
- Obtain business and technical needs of the customer
- Work with business development team, delivery leadership, contracts, pricing and others to ensure effectiveness of capture management strategies
- Perform market analysis, identify opportunities, develop and execute capture plans and monitor competitor activity for each capture
- Develop and update each specific program capture plans win strategy
- Detailed tracking of all capture activities and engagements
- Develop and continuously update the Customer Engagement plan, as well as scheduling
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Experience
- Must be able to obtain a secret level security clearance
- Six plus years of experience leading capture efforts with federal customers
- Previous meaningful experience with consortia based solicitation opportunities including NAC, NAMC requesting whitepapers, prototype proposals, RFIs, etc. is a must
- Proficient in various capture methods
- Proven ability to capture contracts with the federal government
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written skills
- Ability to work as a team player with Business Development and executive leadership to establish successful capture results
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Must be an expert decision-maker with sound judgment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree desired in business, engineering or equivalent direct experience
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Excellent business acumen
- Excellent customer service and be customer focused
- Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with ability to independently use Microsoft Office Programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data and present in a clear manner.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Ability to travel domestically 20% of the time and internationally 5% of the time
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
