WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Food Hall Assistant Manager (Fast Food) assists the Food Hall Manager and Chef in the day-to-day management and operation of the Food Hall. They are responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and managing staff to achieve operational excellence.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by training and supervising staff in serving customers.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in managing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or wastage.
- Oversee food preparation, quality control, and adherence to food safety standards.
- Train employees to properly handle cash, room charges, credit cards, comps, and other transactions on the POS terminal.
- Work with Chefs and have clear understanding of the menus and ingredients.
- Assist in Recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervise Food Hall staff.
- Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and address any staff-related issues.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring to ensure the Food Hall operates within financial constraints.
- Analyze financial data, such as sales and expenses, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of food and supplies.
- Collaborate with all departments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain records to meet health department standards.
- Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance.
- Maintain records of employee schedules, inventory levels, and other relevant documentation.
- Previous experience in quick food service or restaurant management is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Previous experience working in a similar position within a hospitality establishment.
- ServeSafe certified.
- Culinary background.
- This position supervises hourly Team Members.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Health card, Alcohol Tam card
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
