Moses Roses Position Overview:
A Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods and packages from a local licensed center to the customers' residential addresses. They are entrusted with ensuring timely and safe delivery of items while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load items onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring they are secure for transport in a locked container. Unload items at the designated residential delivery location, verifying the accuracy of the delivery against the manifest and purchaser’s State of Michigan valid ID.
Safe Driving Practices: Drive responsibly and adhere to traffic laws and regulations. Maintain a clean driving record and operate the vehicle safely at all times.
Route Navigation: Plan and follow the provided route for delivery to ensure timely arrival at destinations. Utilize provided GPS devices or maps to navigate unfamiliar areas.
Customer Interaction: Be courteous, professional, and helpful during delivery. As needed, handle customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally with store management.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle, including inspecting brakes, tires, and fluid levels. Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate delivery logs, including records of items delivered, mileage, and fuel expenses needed; complete delivery reports or paperwork as the company requires.
Inventory Management: Verify items during loading and unloading to help maintain accurate inventory records. Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during delivery operations. Utilize personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with local streets and routes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift packages and operate delivery vehicles.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and deliveries.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and weekends and or holidays. Holidays are mandatory
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting skills is a plus.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or more significant.
- Completion of a defensive driving course or certification is a plus.
