JOB SUMMARY:
Camp Fire First Texas is accepting resumes for Site Directors and Site Specialists (Teachers) for several After School programs located in Fort Worth. The hours for these positions vary but are typically 2pm - 6pm.
This is a year-round position, although the hours are subject to change during summer months.
The After School Site Director is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where social and self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected. You will be responsible for supervising staff in serving provided snacks, assisting with homework, interacting positively with youth, and leading small group activities.
The After School Site Specialist (Teacher) is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where social and self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected. You will be responsible for interacting with youth while serving provided snacks, assisting with homework, and leading small group activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with youth
- Must pass a criminal background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College credit in child development, education, or related field
- CDA Certificate, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in child development, education or related field
- Bilingual, English - Spanish is a plus
- First Aid/CPR certified
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to implement curriculum with youth
- Ability to coordinate with other staff to provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment with fun and enriching activities
- Ability to work with school age youth with a maximum ratio of 20 youth per group
- Positive attitude
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population
- Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly, stand and walk for extended periods
