TITLE: Camp Counselor
REPORTS TO: Camp Management
CLASSICFICATION: Non-Exempt
Are you ready to have fun this summer and make a difference working with kids? Every summer, Old Colony YMCA works with hundreds of children in fun and educational summer outdoor day camp programs. We are looking for you to be a role model and guide campers through activities!
About the Role:
- Guide and inspire campers aged 4-14 through exciting and educational outdoor activities.
- Summer program runs from June 17th to August 23rd.
- Mandatory training days: Branch dependent.
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday (no weekends), with shifts from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old by August 1st.
- Up-to-date physical and immunizations (Same as required for school).
- Strong communication skills: ability to read, write, talk, see, and hear.
- Ability to lead age-appropriate games and activities.
- Creativity and resourcefulness are highly valued!

Requirements:- Must be 18 years old by August 1st, 2022.
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Evidence of physical examination every two years. Certification of good health from a physician
- Negative Mantoux TB test. Immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
- General knowledge of all camp programs, facilities, fees and policies.
- Ability to read, write, talk, see and hear.
- Ability to plan and initiate age appropriate games and activities.
- Ability to teach and provide leadership.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to be creative and resourceful.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the YMCA and its purpose, mission and values. Demonstrates this understanding through behavior and actions that support the purpose, mission and values.
