CAMP COUNSELORS NEEDED FOR THE 2024 SUMMER SEASON
DESCRIPTION: The City of Beacon is looking for Camp Counselors to work the 2024 summer camp season in the Recreation Department. Incumbents in this class are responsible for the supervision and guidance of children at camp in general activities and assists in instruction programs. Supervision may be exercised over a small number of counselors-in-training acting as group leaders for the children. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Camp Director or Recreation Director or designee.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: As prescribed by §7-2.5 of the New York State Sanitary Code: Experience in camping and supervision of children or completion of an acceptable training course. Persons must be at least 16 years of age.
SALARY/HOURS: $16.00-$19.00 per hour, working twenty (20) to forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday.
LENGTH OF SERVICE: July 1, 2024 – August 2, 2024
BENEFITS: NYS Local Retirement System will be optional and offered upon employment. No other benefits are associated with this position.
