I give a lot of leway to my decorators (there are 3 FT at this location) to be creative and have fun. Previous professional cake decorating experience preferred but if not must be coachable. Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and practices a must. I will pay for your safeserv if you don't already have it. Must have at least basic cross contamination and allergy knowledge.
The good: I provide a significant number of benefits including PTO, paid sick, employee food, employee discounts, free yearly birthday cake, automatic 9 different 1.5x holiday pay days (valentines day, halloween, easter, mothers day, fathers day, 4th, memorial day, and labor day). We are closed several days around Thanksgiving and Christmas so people can spend time with their families. Ample room for growth as we are looking at opening a third location within the next 2 years. I also provide health insurance, disability insurance, vision, dental.
The bad thing (cause there is always a bad thing) is we do almost half of our year in November and December so I can not gaurantee vacation days during that time. I will do my deadlevel best to do a day here or there, but there will never be any way I can give you the week up to Thanksgiving off.
This is a base plus tips position. Base ranges between $14 and $16 per hour. Our tips now during the slow season range between $5.50 and $6.50 per hour in additional pay. If tips are ever below $3 per hour, I will make up the difference out of my own pocket. Time during Christmas in 2022 were over $17 per hour.
