Job Description
Schedule: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am AWS Schedule.
Pay: $33-$40/hr.
Job location: Lathrop, CA (On-site) *No re-location offered.
Job purpose:
Automation technicians perform routine and emergency diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor their functionality, isolate issues, and perform necessary repairs. Ensure machines comply with design and legal specifications using weights or specialized instruments. When problems arise, technicians troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or computer system issues and proceed with repairs or replacements as needed.
Job Duties:
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair computerized systems and robotic devices to minimize human intervention, such as robotic assembly devices and computer-controlled HVAC systems.
- Develop, document, and test control systems and process controls.
- Install, test, and calibrate level, temperature, and flow controls.
- Proficient in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) Communication and Automation Systems, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, PLC programs, motor VFDs, and other electronic systems.
- Maintain and modify various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) across different platforms.
- Support automation aspects across the site by assisting with program logic and automation as needed.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical power profiles effectively and designing Electrical Panels for automation and power distribution.
- Conduct instrument maintenance and calibration and ensure comprehensive documentation of all related activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in the following:
- Electrical instrumentation and calibration.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Reading and writing electrical and PLC documentation.
- Safe practices for electrical and mechanical activities.
- Computer applications including Word, spreadsheets, and charting.
- Training in electrical, electronics, and programmable logic controllers.
- Experience with variable frequency drives and motion control.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Equipment Operated:
- DVOM
- Calibration equipment
- Fabrication tools and equipment
- Conduit bending tools
- Hand tools
Physical Activity:
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, and move about.
- Frequently squat, bend, kneel, climb, reach overhead, and push/pull/lift/carry 50 lbs.
