Cae Summer Intern

Summary:

Toyoda Gosei North America (located in Troy, MI) has an opening for a CAE Engineer Summer Intern. The CAE Engineering Intern will support the CAE department in benchmarking, development, testing, and analysis of human body CAE models and simulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work alongside Safety System CAE engineers, to perform finite element analysis (FEA) for steering wheels, and airbags
• Create computer models and process the results to learn the standard process of CAE.
• Help improve model accuracy, and process automation.
• Work on THUMS human models to develop injury criteria and injury prevention counter measures.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Coursework toward a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
• Understand the theory and application of finite element method (FEA) and familiar with Ls-dyna software.
• Experience using CAD software, and finite element software
• Computer programming skills: Unix scripts, Python
• Knowledge of mechanics, human anatomy and biomechanics
• Excellent organization and communication skills required
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented
