Summary
Plans numerical control program to control contour path machining of parts for computerized numerical control machine tools by performing the following duties.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze manufacturing plan, drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
Perform program proofing using computer-assisted software for verification and to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
Develops instruction sheets and tool lists to guide setup and operation of machine. Write program of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control data to regulate movements of machine along cutting path.
Observes operation of program on a trial run to prove instructions.
Analyzes, reviews, and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Assist users to solve operating problems.
Maintain and control CNC programs and tool setup specification documents.
Read and understand technical and non-technical documents that relate to contracts, specifications, purchasing, product design, manufacture and test.
Manage and maintain proper historical information to recover and re-run programs. Manage programming, personnel and design work, outsource as required.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Observe the safety rules and regulations and wear the required safety equipment.
Support the Quality Management System to assure compliance to quality, industrial and government standards and regulations.
· Must have organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
· 2+ years of related experience in Aerospace manufacturing of metal components.
. Programming experience using NX software a solid requirement.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Team player
· Capable of passing pre-employment drug screen.
