CAD Technician

Reports to: Engineering Manager

General Expectations:

The CAD Technician is responsible for creating and converting standard drawing files into production ready plans by following the serialized orders, state codes and company standards. Working with the production team to analyze any print discrepancies and make necessary corrections. Having a good attention to detail and the ability to take good written notes is a must.

Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Create prints using AutoCAD 2019. (Or higher)

2. Create detailed architectural construction prints.

3. Communicate and collaborate with production team members regarding print related items.

4. Communicate and collaborate with the Sales Team regarding orders.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

1. Very high attention to detail.

2. High degree of independence – able to execute responsibilities without direct supervision.

3. Understanding of architectural design standards and familiarity with related codes.

4. Ability to check over work to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of prints.

Education and Qualifications:

1. Two-year Drafting degree or equivalent preferred.

2. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

3. 3 or more years of experience with architectural design standards.

4. Must have 5 or more years of continuous experience using a newer release of AutoCAD.

* This position has a minimum start rate of $24.00 an hour and could be negotiated based on candidate experience.
