General Summary
The CAD Engineer is responsible for the development and quality of all electrical and mechanical design activity associated with the test and engineering organization. Job responsibilities include printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout and development of mechanical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Design tools and fixtures using SolidWorks software.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to design and manufacture components to support a wide range of processes.
- Produce models and detailed drawings from information submitted via various forms of communication.
- Accurately recreate existing components in Solidworks with high levels of precision.
- Maintain design updates and troubleshoot tooling issues.
- Communicate and maintain working relationships with vendors both external and internal to manufacture your designs.
- May serve as a member of cross-functional project teams.
- Understands work environment issues (i.e., OSHA regulations, etc.).
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or directly related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Strong organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with machining and/or 3D printing.
- Experience with semiconductor, cleanroom, and gowning processes.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Strong understanding of metalworking materials and methods.
- Experience with vision measurement systems.
