The AET CAD Designer will help our automation department in creation, modification, analysis, and optimization of our electrical panels. This role's objective is to understand project requirements and able to translate them into a CAD platform in order to complete a design package for manufacture and installation in commercial and industrial sites.
Education and Experience Qualification
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 2 years' experience with AutoCAD
- Willingness to learn the electrical component, if no previous experience.
- Driver's License preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading, interpreting, and understating specification documents, control narratives, P&I diagrams, and plan layout diagrams.
- Designs or redesigns complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from Group Leader.
- Produces CAD drawings for new or improved products using industry, departmental and discipline standards.
- Works with other teams to obtain reference information for drawings, and project team to execute projects on time and on budget.
- Read, understand, and can interpret both 2D and 3D drawings.
- Track assigned tasks and prioritized the completion of tasks accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Be able to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and management.
- Remain in a stationary position for longer periods of time, while operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Ability to observe details at close range.
- Ability to work independently and a part of a team.
