Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure & Strategic Projects (NESP) is a functional unit of Nikkiso CE&IG that develops and executes turnkey EPC projects (> US$10 MM) globally. NESP designs, integrates, and fabricates complete energy infrastructure projects and cryogenic plants.
Summary/Objective
This position reports to the Engineering Director, and is based in Houston, Texas. The job holder needs to be an experienced CAD designer professional broadly versed in the industrial gas, chemical, or oil & gas industry. The role of a CAD Designer is to work closely with project managers, subject matter experts and design authorities to develop accurate and complete engineering drawing packages in a timely and accurate manner.
The applicant must be a stronger team player, possess strong analytical and organizational skills, be able to juggle several concurrent projects and be able to communicate effectively and seek out technical clarifications as required.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

- Create 2D/3D drawings, including but not limited to:
- Process Flow Diagrams & P&IDs complying with ISA Standard S5.1 - Instrumentation Symbol Specification.
- Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Electrical Drawings
- Piping and tubing assemblies complying with ASME B31.3 and B31.12 requirements.
- Pressure Vessels complying with ASME pressure vessel code Section VIII.
- Steel frame weldments for equipment skids and cold box frames.
- Piping and instrument diagrams.
- Details of machined parts.
- Selection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating parts lists for procurement.
- Create and manage assembly drawing tree structures and estimates for completion of work.
- Interact with project managers, subject matter experts, and design authorities in creation of designs.
- Interaction with manufacturing vendors regarding design issues.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Education and Experience
• Minimum completion of high school or equivalent.
• College and/or CAD Technical school degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience with the CAD design responsibilities listed above.
• Inventor 2019 or newer.
• AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• PLM Software (Softech ProductCenter or other similar).
• ERP Software (Engineering BOM creation).
• Knowledge of and experience with ASME piping and pressure vessel codes.
