Cache Data Manager/Database Administrator

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking Cache Data Manager/Database Administrator for a remote position in Albany, NY. Candidates must reside in the EST time zone and be able to travel to Albany, NY for onboarding.

Candidates must be able to pass a Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check and sign an NDA.

Position: The Cache Data Manager/Database Administrator will work as part of an existing team including supporting an existing application platform and contributing to efforts working on potential modernization enhancements.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in Cache' (IRIS) system and database configuration and management.
• Experience working with Red Hat Linux.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Support conversion of mainframe screens to modern web screens into a new graphical user interface (GUI) that will provide end users with the same functionality as the current menu options.
• Implement concept of work queues where users log onto the system and are presented with a list of assigned tasks where the system assigns work items to staff based on a predefined set of criteria.
• Consolidate databases to eliminate redundant databases and use a central database, which would require that screens and reports are modified to limit the data a user can access.
• Perform code changes including consolidating the data into a central database.
• Implement a source control solution for the code base.
• Enhance audit functions to comply with user access requirements.
