Our Purchasing team’s mission is to provide bargain-minded customers with the deepest discounts on quality and branded products. In many ways our team is the heart of the organization- building and maintaining vendor relationships and providing solutions for our supplier partners and independent operators. About the Role:
You will provide bargain-minded customers with the deepest discounts. You will be purchasing MTO (Made-to-Order) and Opportunistic product from suppliers. You will be responsible for managing inventory of selected categories generating $60M annually. You will manage key supplier relationships, new and existing and work with internal stake holders. Your primary role is to source product to meet or exceed sales and profit goals. Review category needs and source existing and new categories to support store and customer needs. You will be involved with supplier performance reviews & budget planning while supporting our commitment of providing VALUE to our customers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Analyzes and manages business for future growth through experience, relationships, and information.
- Maximizes performance of current product assortments.
- Initiates, develops, and maintains vendor relationships.
- Understands business classifications and gains insight from vendors, trade shows, customers, etc. to aggressively exploit all opportunities.
- Identifies new, innovative products and other opportunities to grow the business.
- Develops Assistant Buyer to assume the next level of responsibility.
- Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with all levels throughout the company
About The Pay:
- Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Annually

About You:
- Off-price retail Buying / Merchandising experience in a multi-unit organization
- Soft Home and/or Apparel Buying experience.
- Computer proficiency with strong Microsoft Excel experience, and an aptitude for learning new software programs and applications
- Highly regarded reputation in the marketplace
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly attentive to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to share findings and actionable solutions with Director, Planner and/or Team
- Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities
- Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and accomplish team objectives
- Ability to work effectively and proactively as a member of the cross-functional team by communicating clearly and focusing on team objectives
- Ability to build relationships, be personable, maintain a positive attitude, and collaborate with others
