Business Service Representative
General Statement of Duties
Maintain a collaborative relationship with partners in the workforce development system to provide Business Services that meet the needs of employers and job seekers. Assist job seekers in achieving career goals through access to workforce development services. Meet job placement performance goals and achieve targets. Provide reports on job seeker’s placement activity.
Needed Skills
Broad knowledge of Chicagoland business and industry sectors and their employment demands. Knowledge of workforce program requirements. Customer service skills to interact with employers and job seekers.
Responsibilities
- Meet with businesses to promote workforce development services and assess businesses' current hiring needs.
- Assist businesses in finding qualified candidates for open and available positions
- Educate employers about services provided by the Workforce Development System.
- Enter updated job orders into the Chicagoland Career Connect System and disseminate job orders to all Delegate Agencies.
- Educate delegate agencies on resources available for job seekers to develop skills needed for the industry.
- Provide job placement and career services for the following programs: WIOA- Dislocated Adults and Youth.
- Interview & screen candidates for potential job placement and manage a caseload of clients for placement services.
- Identify skill requirements of available jobs and match job seekers to openings.
- Recruit employers to provide On-the-job Training Services for clients.
- Achieve planned performance goals and report program performance results.
- Assist job seekers by providing information on growth industries and job opportunities in the area.
- Assist job seekers and businesses in using the Illinois Work Net System, America’s Job Bank, and other Internet job placement programs.
- Conduct career development sessions and confidence-building activities.
- Provide re-employment services to job seekers, including job readiness repeats, interview training, resume rewrites, and Job Club.
- Provide retention services to businesses that help employees stay on the job.
- Enter case notes into the WIOA and Career Connect System.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Communication, Business, Human Resources, or a comparable field.
· Supplemented by three (3) years of solid work experience in private sector industries, economic development, or business outreach.
· Transcripts required
· Preferred experience working within the confines of government regulations in a not-for-profit arena strongly desired.
· Two years of WIOA experience is strongly desired but not required.
